If you were there, you know the tasty great times we had dining with and getting to know Bill and Phil.  Thank you for your dedication  to raising great healthy foods for us and our local environment.

In addition to diverting most scraps to compost & recycling, the night ended with the beautiful and smart locals donating over $600 for fellow revolutionary Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Foundation.  Yes!!!

A big THANKS & SHOUT OUT to Justin Mund & Orfila Winery for drawing wine straight from the barrel and personalizing the private wine labels for all those attending.

Yesterday I received a call that I’ve been hoping for the last couple weeks.  Phil Noble of Sage Mountain Farm has expanded his operation and now offers local, organic, wheat grass fed cattle through his Sage Mountain Green-Fed Beef operation.

After hearing Phil describe it in detail, I’m looking forward to seeing his herd and the amazing pasture they feed on.

Plus, I can’t express how happy I am with who we have as our FRSC Valentine’s Day partners …Phil, Bill and Justin.  I guarantee you’re going to love meeting them and listening to the passion they bring every day.

No time for rest …I’ve got to put together the menu, advanced reservations information and have it posted by Friday.  Now, it’s definitely going to happen.  Whew.

I’m thinking a savory and a sweet strawberry course after touring Bill Brammer’s amazing Be Wise Ranch, along with unique and tasty great veggie courses.

I’m thinking a braised course to pair with the incredible taste and pleasant mouth feel Orfila Winery winemaker Justin Mund is attaining in those yet to be released wine barrels.  I want to make sure we get what Justin actually has made, so the reds that night will be “just drawn” bottles for that night.  The “grape” on top …We are discussing private, even personalized labels for those that attend.

Like I said …I’m getting excited, it’s going to be tasty times and one of the best nights of 2012.  Seats will be limited and are expected to sell out.  Advanced Reservations with Menu (initial draft) will be released the week.

What I didn’t know …Our farm partner Be Wise Ranch is on the parcel of land beside the Orfila vineyard.  Awesome.  That’s what I call local!

This Friday is going to be my first visit to both.  My plan is to walk the fields with owner/farmer Bill Brannon to get an idea of veggies I “may” have available to make a “first draft” Valentine’s Day menu.  Thereafter, I am going over the hill to Orfila for a tour of the estate and tasting to get an idea about which will pair with which course.  That’s a Good Friday, huh?

Alrighty, I have lots to do.  Stay tuned …Advanced Reservations and first draft Menu will be posted next week!!!

Viva Food Revolution!!!

I reached out to a potential partner that I’ve spoken with previously and got nothing …No email response, no phone message, no nothing.  WHAAAAAT – WHAAAAAT – WHHAAAAATTT? …Drats!!!

Hey, pick yourself up Yapo.  It’s a new week.  I know …I will bandwagon the good that a 3-day holiday weekend brings.  Thank you MLK!  This week I will prioritize, put in the extra effort and get results.  Either I finally connect with the guy or not, I will get a protein partner locked in by Friday.  Also, I have a clear idea of whom I will invite to be my guest for the supper club and episode.  It came to me while surfing with friends, the perfect San Diego couple.  Hope they can make it.  …Gotta have goals!!!

Yes.  A lot still do to.  Though, I know our Valentine’s Day event is going to be delicious and positively influential!
